I was unsure what to expect, as I did not want to progress, I just wanted to know how to manage a situation at work that was causing me tremendous stress.
Someone recommended CG mentoring, and I met Cheryl initially for one session.
After one session and me explaining my challenges and feeling quite trapped and unsupported in a issue far too long and complex to explain here, but Cheryl supported me to unpick it, reminded me of my own role and helped me to see that I was not powerless in this situation. She gave me tasks, questions to ask my manager in a very professional way, reminded me of some of the important elements that I was missing. One session turned into 4 and I am in a much better position. My confidence is back, my self-doubt almost gone. I was reminded of my worth and why I was in the job in the first place. I can’t thank her enough.

Having Cheryl as a mentor for just three sessions made a big difference in my confidence and career progression. When I was hesitant to apply for a management role, she provided the encouragement and belief I needed to take that step.
Cheryl had the ability to home in on my strengths that I did not even recognise myself. She meticulously listened as I explained my role, and then helped me to identify key achievements and evidence to showcase my abilities. Her insight and guidance allowed me to see my own potential more clearly.
Beyond practical support, Cheryl also equipped me with techniques to manage my nerves, ensuring I felt composed and prepared for the interview. Her structured yet compassionate approach made all the difference, and I walked into that interview feeling more confident than ever. I cannot thank Cheryl enough for her support. She is not just a mentor she is an empowering force who genuinely wants to see you succeed.

I recently attended the Resilience Workshop delivered by CG’s Rise and Thrive, and it was genuinely transformative. Before the session, I didn’t fully understand what resilience really meant, I had always assumed it was about ‘just getting on with it’ or pushing through difficult situations. The training helped me see that resilience is actually about the ability to bounce back, make sense of challenges, and stay grounded when things feel overwhelming.
The practical strategies shared during the workshop were incredibly useful, especially the group task where we explored our ‘resilience networks’. It helped me realise who and what I could draw on for support, and it made resilience feel achievable rather than abstract.
Since the workshop, my manager has arranged some one-to-one follow-up sessions with CG’s Rise and Thrive, and they have made a huge difference. After being off work with stress, I now feel stronger, clearer, and much more capable of managing situations that used to overwhelm me. I’m back at work and feel far more confident in myself and my ability to cope. We did a joint session with my manager who has now adapted her support that is more bespoke to my needs and less generic.
I would highly recommend CG’s Rise and Thrive to other services. The support has been empowering, practical and genuinely helpful, the trainers were also really good and it helps that they speak from personal experiences.

I felt genuinely heard and understood, and the focus remained on finding a constructive way forward. It feels like a weight has been lifted. Thank you to Cheryl and to my organisation for investing in this process."
